The Bachelor of Education (BEd.) Early Grade is a programme designed for trainees  who wish to sharpen their teaching competencies in the area of early childhood education

Programme Target Group

The target group for the Bed Early Grade Education program offered by the  college  includes individuals who aspire to become early grade teachers. This program is designed for individuals who have a passion for working with young children, specifically those in the age range of two to six years old.

The program is suitable for students who have completed their secondary education and wish to pursue a career in teaching at the early grade level. It is open to individuals who meet the entry requirements set by the colleges of education in Ghana, which may include a minimum grade point average, relevant subjects studied at the secondary level, and successful completion of an entrance examination or interview process.

Aspiring teachers who have a genuine interest in early childhood development, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have a desire to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children are ideal candidates for the Bed Early Grade Education program. The program provides them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and practical experience to effectively teach and support the holistic development of young learners in the early grades.

Upon successful completion of the Bed Early Grade Education program, graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Education (Bed) degree. This qualification enables them to seek employment as early grade teachers in both public and private educational institutions across Ghana, specifically in early childhood education settings. They can contribute to the development of young children’s foundational skills, nurture their curiosity and love for learning, and support their overall growth and development.
