VISION

The Languages Department at St. John Bosco College of Education strives to be a center of excellence in language education, intercultural understanding, and linguistic research. We envision empowering students with linguistic proficiency, cultural appreciation, and the ability to thrive in a globalized society.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide quality language instruction, foster intercultural competence, and promote linguistic research within the vibrant community of St. John Bosco College of Education. We aim to develop students’ language skills, nurture their understanding of diverse cultures, and inspire a lifelong passion for language learning and cultural exploration.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Language Proficiency: Our primary objective is to equip students with strong linguistic skills in various languages, enabling effective communication and cultural exchange in multicultural contexts. We aim for students to attain proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the languages offered by the department.
  2. Intercultural Understanding: We strive to cultivate intercultural competence among students, fostering respect, empathy, and appreciation for diverse cultures. Through cultural studies courses, immersive experiences, and interaction with native speakers, we aim to broaden students’ perspectives and promote a global mindset
  3. Professional Development: We aim to facilitate the professional growth of faculty members and students alike. Our objective is to provide opportunities for continuous professional development, including workshops, conferences, and collaborations with other institutions, ensuring that our teaching practices remain current and effective.

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Patrick Atanga Aduko is an esteemed academic professional currently serving as the Head of the Languages Department at an undisclosed institution. With a strong background in language education and intercultural understanding, Patrick has played a pivotal role in the department’s growth and success. His qualifications include an M. Phil. in Ghanaian Language Studies (Gurenɛ), an M. Phil. in African Studies (Literature and Culture), a B.Ed., and a Diploma in Gurenɛ.

As the Head of the Languages Department, Patrick fosters an environment of innovation and academic excellence. He encourages the development and implementation of effective teaching methodologies that promote language proficiency and cultural appreciation among students.
