Office of the College Registrar

JOB VACANCIES

St. John Bosco’s College of Education is a Faith- Based Catholic institution in Navrongo in the Upper East Region. The College is affiliated to the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (USTED).

It is announced for the information of the College Community and the General Public that qualified applicants are invited to apply for the following non- teaching positions.

NON-TEACHING POSITIONS

EXTERNAL ADVERT

SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Senior Administrative Assistant will perform a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties of executive nature.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Training and supervision;
  • Covering of meetings;
  • Preparation and typing of reports;
  • Keeping of confidential files;
  • Maintenance of discipline;
  • Execution of specific duties assigned by superiors.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognised tertiary institution. He/She must have served as an Administrative Assistant in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years. Must be able to type and be computer literate.

INTERNAL ADVERT

SENIOR TECHNICIAN

Duties and Responsibilities

The Technician shall perform such relevant duties as may be required. These include:

  • construction;
  • repairs and maintenance of scientific equipment;
  • providing technical assistance to staff engaged on research projects;
  • preparation of experiments for teaching and learning;
  • providing tutorial and technical assistance for teaching and learning.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised tertiary institution in the appropriate subject. He/She must have served as a Technician in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least four (4) years. Must be able to type and be computer literate.

 

DRIVER GRADE II

The Driver Grade II shall assist the Transport Officer in the overall management and administration of the Transport Unit. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving;
  • Ensuring cleanliness of vehicles;
  • Supervision of subordinate staff;
  • Repairs, maintenance and smooth running of the College’s vehicles.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Must possess a valid Driving License, minimum of License D and must have at least the BECE/MSLC. Applicants with SSSCE/WASSCE is an added advantage.

 

CAMPUS GUARD GRADE II

The Campus Guard will be responsible for safe-guarding life and property on campus. The position requires tactfulness, initiative, discipline, boldness and firmness. A successful candidate shall assist the day to day administration of the Security Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure self discipline;
  • Protect and safeguard life and property on campus;
  • Perform routine patrolling of campus buildings, hostels, parking areas, and perimeter;
  • Prevent unauthorized entry and monitor suspicious behavior;
  • Assist students, staff, and visitors in emergencies or inquiries;
  • Check visitors in and out;
  • Report incidents.

.Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must have at least BECE and must be physically fit. Applicants with SSSCE/WASSCE is an added advantage.

 

GARDENER

The gardener shall perform general gardening duties and maintain the beauty of the campus grounds and ensure outdoor areas are safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing for students, faculty, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plant Care;
  • Lawn mowing and Bed Maintenance;
  • Pruning and Tree Care;
  • Weeds and Pest Control;
  • Equipment Operation;
  • Tidy the campus;
  • Facility Upkeep.

 

Experience and Skills

The candidate must have at least BECE and must be physically fit. Applicants with SSSCE/WASSCE is an added advantage.

 

CONSERVANCY LABOURER/LABOURER

The conservancy labourer or labourer shall perform general cleaning and sanitation duties and keep the campus tidy.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning indoor and out door;
  • Refuse Collection;
  • Drain Clearing;
  • Use, Maintain and Care for Equipment;
  • Public Toilet Maintenance;
  • Vector Control;
  • Reporting Hazards.

 

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must have at least BECE and must be physically fit. Applicants with SSSCE/WASSCE is an added advantage.
